Privacy policy
Callie is an AI companion that chats with you and places real phone calls to you. That only works if you trust us with personal things, so this policy is written to be read: what we collect, why, who touches it, and how you erase it.
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with your Apple account. We receive a unique account identifier and your email address (which may be Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email). A name is optional.
- Phone number. The number you verify so Callie can call you. We use it solely to place the calls you've asked for and never share it for any other purpose.
- Conversations. Your chat messages and real-time transcripts of your calls. We do not keep audio recordings of calls — audio is transcribed live to generate her replies and then discarded.
- Memories and Moments. Details Callie remembers from your conversations, and the keepsake cards generated from your calls. All visible — and deletable — in the app.
- Preferences and schedules. Persona, vibe, what she calls you, and your call schedule.
- Subscription state. Your plan and usage (minutes and messages). Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- Device and diagnostics. Push notification tokens and basic technical logs for reliability and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To run Callie: respond in chat, place and hold phone calls, remember what you tell her, build Moments, and fire your scheduled calls.
- To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and debug failures.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
AI processing — full disclosure
Callie's intelligence ("Callie AI") runs on third-party AI infrastructure providers acting as our data processors. Your chat messages and live call transcripts are sent to these providers solely to generate Callie's responses. They process your content under contracts that prohibit using it for anything other than providing this service, including training their models. Calls are carried over the regular phone network by a telephony provider, which handles your phone number and call audio solely to connect the call.
Retention and deletion
- We keep your data while your account is active, so Callie can keep being her.
- You can delete any individual memory at any time in the app.
- Delete your account (You tab → Delete account) and everything goes with it — messages, transcripts, memories, Moments, schedules, and your phone number — removed from our production systems immediately and purged from backups within 30 days.
- You can also email mitsi@uptrail.ai for deletion and we'll do it for you.
Who we share with
Only the processors needed to run the service: cloud hosting, the AI providers above, the telephony provider that connects your calls, and Apple (sign-in, payments, push notifications). Each receives only the minimum required for their function. We never sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if legally required to do so.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls in reputable cloud infrastructure, and accessible only to systems and people that need it to run the service.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can access what Callie remembers in the app, delete pieces of it, or delete everything. If you're in a region with formal privacy rights (such as the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you can also exercise access, correction, deletion, and portability rights by emailing mitsi@uptrail.ai. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
Age
Callie is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use it. Callie is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — if we learn we have, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
